Privacy policy
We keep the data we collect minimal, the purposes specific, and the controls in your hands. This page explains exactly what we gather, why, and how to change it.
01 Overview
SwitchCase Studios (“SwitchCase”, “we”, or “us”) is a digital product studio. This policy covers the personal information we process when you visit switchcasestudios.com, fill out a contact form, download a whitepaper, or otherwise engage with us.
We believe privacy is a design decision, not a disclosure. We try to collect only the information we genuinely need and keep it only for as long as we genuinely need it.
02 Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you provide directly
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, and the message you send us.
- Email correspondence — any information you include when you email us at hello@switchcasestudios.com.
- Client engagement materials — information you share in the course of a paid engagement (kickoff questionnaires, technical documentation, etc.).
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, referring URL, approximate timestamps, device type, browser, and approximate geographic region (derived from IP address at the city/country level).
- Technical data — IP address, user-agent string, and error diagnostics needed to operate and secure the site.
Information from third parties
- Analytics providers (see Section 05) may share aggregate, de-identified usage reports with us.
- Business tools such as email and document platforms may process information you submit as part of normal operations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.
03 How we use it
We use the information we collect only for clearly defined purposes:
- Responding to inquiries you submit through the contact form or email.
- Delivering services you’ve engaged us for, including client work and whitepaper access.
- Improving the site — understanding which content is useful and where the experience breaks down.
- Operating & securing our infrastructure, preventing abuse, and diagnosing errors.
- Complying with legal obligations, enforcing our terms, and protecting our rights.
Our lawful bases for processing (for users covered by the EU/UK GDPR) are: your consent, the performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in running and improving our business — balanced against your rights.
04 Who we share with
We share personal information only in these narrow circumstances:
- Service providers we rely on to operate (e.g. hosting, email, analytics). They are bound by contract to use data only on our instructions.
- Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants, and auditors, when strictly necessary.
- Legal or safety reasons — if we’re required to comply with law, a valid legal request, or to protect the safety of any person.
- Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with the same protections applied by the successor.
We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
05 Cookies & analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the site:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to load and function (e.g. preferences). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Individual users are not identified.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking non-essential cookies won’t stop you from using the site.
06 Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Typical retention windows:
- Contact form messages — up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted or anonymized.
- Analytics data — aggregated and de-identified on a rolling basis; raw logs kept no longer than 90 days.
- Client engagement records — kept for the duration of the engagement and as required for tax, accounting, and contract-enforcement purposes (typically 7 years).
07 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your personal information, subject to limited exceptions.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Portability — receive your information in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis for processing.
- Complain to your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@switchcasestudios.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising any right.
08 Children’s privacy
Our site and services are intended for business users and are not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
09 Security
We apply industry-standard administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information — including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor due diligence. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required by law.
10 International transfers
We’re based in the United States, and our service providers are located across multiple jurisdictions. If you are accessing the site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from your own. Where transfers are made from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve or as the law requires. When we do, we’ll update the “Effective” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced via a notice on this page or by email where appropriate.
